Solaeris- Solar Thermal Air Conditioners.
This is a simple breakdown of how our solar air conditioners work. The solar thermal panel on the left is the key, with the condenser and split unit completing the other two parts of the system.
Basically, the solar thermal panel uses the sun’s power to increase the temperature and speed of the hot refrigerant as it it exits the compressor.
A conventional air conditioner uses an electrical mechanical device (compressor) to create pressure and heat to make the refrigerant hot.
We use the solar panel along with the radiation from the sun to accomplish the same task and the end result is SIGNIFICANTLY less electricity is needed to operate your air conditioning.
It’s not rocket science, but it is very effective.
This system when tested against a single split unit was more 70% more efficient than a standard air conditioner.
In a commercial application ( buildings , cooling plants etc) the savings can be immense.
Solar Powered Air conditioners – A PV System for an Airconditioner.
This is a a solar powered air conditioner- and no, they are NOT the same.
This system uses a PV ( Solar panels that generate electricity) array as well as the Deep Cycle batteries and inverter to generate enough power to run an air conditioner.
There are a few drawbacks with this system.
One, you need to have enough battery power to drive the airconditioner. Even if it’s an inverter system , it STILL needs enough power to run it.
This is an off grid solution – so if you don’t have UV (rainy / cold / cloudy days) then you don’t have aircon.
While it can be partially grid tied, it is essentially an off grid system.
The cost of these systems is prohibitively expensive due to the batteries, panels and components required.
It would be better to have a proper PV System for your home and run your lights , TV and other small consumers of power on that , than to put in PV System JUST For the air conditioner.
